The Holiday Tradition and Two Faces
Why oh why is there a double standard taught to our children?
"Hey there son. Santa Clause is real. He brings you presents on Christmas Day, but only if you're good, and if you're sleeping."
Two minutes earlier ...
"Hey there son. You shouldn't tell lies."
What the F*#K?????
You mean to tell me that parents doop their kids into believing a lie, only to be horribly dissappointed when they eventually find out the truth, yet they expect their kids to not lie about other things?
Here's a solution ... how's about telling kids the REAL story of the REAL St. Nicholas? Tell them how the whole tradition got started, and tell them how fucked up the ideal of a fat man squeezing down a chimney really is ... especially if you live in a trailer park that has no chimneys (as I did).
Then maybe our kids wont be so confused, and have a smidgen more of stability, knowing that their parents tell them the truth.
Try that one ...

Come on, wheres the fun if you cant contradict yourself to your own children...
Do as I say, not as I do.
Pft... and so I ask, where is the fun?
